The Geom project is intended to be a striking sculptural seating centrepiece predominantly aimed for the park or large garden setting. Utilizing a mixture of cool clean lines and bold asymmetric forms combined with unparalleled seating comfort.
Although Geom incorporates asymmetry in the overall appearance, it still retains a visual sense of balance, proportion and supreme comfort for the sitter. Each back/lean component is hollow carved to fully support the lower lumbar and upper regions of back, enveloping the sitter within the form, rather than simply pressed against a flat surface. The seating board accommodates saddle carving of differing sizes for increased comfort and giving an element of further interest within the design.
The Geom scheme can be created as a modular unit seating area. Each unit maybe created to take between two and four persons, then units maybe arranged together in flowing lines or circulations to forming larger seating installations.
External wood specification is of large section oak wood. This has outstanding natural weather resistant properties with a pleasing grain pattern configuration.
The construction uses traditional and strong jointing techniques with the large through wedge joined legs creating a visually pleasing interface on the seating board. The back components are locked in place with a removable through pin joint to enable easier transportation and installation.
