Nimm Kei is the arm/reading chair version of the Nimm chair pattern. It is a light, ‘fine line’ chair with beautiful shaping & carving of the seat plane to really bring the piece to life. The flat twin post
design also features subtle ‘line weight’ style adjustments to accentuate the lightness & envelop the form of the design. Most notable however are the arm rest supports, curving out from the sides of
the seat plane & back up & under into the arm rests. Essentially this is a Windsor/slab stick style
chair although not as you would know it! The whole chair design utilizes the wonderful resilient
strenght quality of ash for the components, which allows the structure to ‘give’ a little & move with the sitter. Greatly adding to the comfort of the chair & stenght of the design. I experimented a while back with minimal form lightweight armchairs namely with the Excelsior design.
Nimm Kei revisits this concept & produces a superior amalgamation of ideas based on the twin
flattened rear post arrangement. A sculpturaly light & pleasing minimalist design form with
excellent seating posture comfort & arm rests too!
