The p2p

p2p shown here in its final state - fine finish/hardcoat wax oiled. It was decided to highlight the character of the cracked oak after any subsequent movement of the wood by "burning in" to the checking/cracks to give extra depth & presence to the work. The outer surface of the work was then cleaned back to reveal the striking grain structure of the oak posts.

The images here depict p2p in a garden setting. Constructed from oak & sweetchestnut - naturally weather resisting timbers, it would make a fine exterior novelty/play seating scheme. Although this p2p (Aztec Camera) is destined for interior usage.

An exterior version would require modifications to the seating board to allow rainfall run off. This could feature relief cutaways or a longtitudinal saddle carved slatted deckseat board. Exterior work would also use a more charactered finish to be more duarble to the elements - sun, rain, wind.
